Important information
Please note
- Children under 3 can enter free of charge.
- Children under 10 may only visit the zoo when accompanied by an adult.
- Discounts can only be given on presentation of proof of eligibility.
- No discounts or bonus cards are valid for special events.
- Your dog is welcome at the zoo, but please ensure that it is kept on a short lead, remains outside the animal enclosures and that you bring a pooper scooper!
- You can reach the zoo on tram 42/43 from Krefeld main station – alight at the Grotenburg/Zoo stop.
- Photography and filming are permitted for private use only! Anyone found to be breaching this regulation will face legal action.
Information for disabled persons
- Discounts for disabled persons: on presentation of identification, entry to the zoo costs €4.00 instead of €8.50.
- There are four disabled parking spaces in the zoo car park, from which it is around 50 metres to the zoo ticket office. There are disabled toilets in both toilet blocks. The entire zoo is accessible, but sandy or bark mulch paths may be difficult to move along.
- Two wheelchairs are available at the ticket office. They can be reserved by calling +49 (0)2151 955 211.
Information for schools and kindergartens
- Groups of 20 or more receive a discount on the admission price. Children pay €3.50. One accompanying adult goes free for every ten children.
- Krefeld schools, kindergartens and children’s homes (proof required) pay €3 per child.
- When visiting the Zoo School and being supervised by a zoo teacher, every school child pays €3 to enter.
